Dedicated drop in AK Style Safety Selectors for your Springfield Kuna. While it may seem unconventional at first, our patented “AK style” design allows the operator to comfortably and intuitively manipulate the safety with a simple flick of the finger. The added length and stepped rib geometry provides grip and leverage over the factory thumb selectors and reduces the amount of force required to operate the selectors (think breaker bar on your wheels/lugnuts, longer lever more torque, less force). Overall these selectors might look simple, but the final geometry is the result of extensive testing and optimization of the smallest details. Machined from billet 6061T6 aluminum and hard coat anodized to MIL-A-8625.
Sold individually for either the LEFT or RIGHT side, easily paired with the factory thumb selector on opposite side or you can choose to use one of our Kuna Thumb Selectors or Kuna Selector Delete for the ultimate setup. If you want to further reduce the force required to operate the selector assembly, we make a Kuna Reduced Weight Selector Spring as well.

I am usually not a fan of ambidextrous safeties because the right side switch would often dig a little into the inside knuckle of my shooting hand when keeping my finger off the trigger (and some even when shooting depending on size and geometry). The HBI enhanced right side selector does dig a little bit, but this one doesn’t because it folds completely flat when in the fire position and only sticks down a little when on safe. So it actually is very comfortable to have on the firearm. I highly recommend! HBI is a great company to work with too, great communication!
